How can black female bodies subvert the white narrative through self-love, Self-Elevation, and self-expression?
self-attire
I am a firm believer in the phrase, "You look good, you feel good." There have been many times I've been stuck in ballet (read: Gary's class), not dressed how I want to be and it affects how I dance. [Remember that the next time you see me fail at just a single turn.]

This belief, of course, extends outside of class as well. In my collaboration with Chachi Perez, we developed three looks that are near and dear to my heart.
Look #1
This casual streetwear look is inspired by my mother who always made it a point to let everyone know where she's from: Brooklyn, NY.
Look #2
My cultural background is divided between my mother (Trinidad & Tobago) and my father (Haiti). I wanted a look that blended these cultures into formal/evening wear.
Look #3
This look is inspired by West African fashion and is really meant to capture the sense of "otherworldliness" and "royalty."
